A tapeless production system was designed and built for the coverage of summits in the format of high definition television.
The need for such a large-scale technical re-equipment of the TV company was caused by the requirement of covering the summits taking place in the republic. As the production was expanding, Bashkortostan Broadcasting Company moved to a single integrated complex based on a common platform. It required the modernization of the entire technical base of tapeless production and broadcast automation. The customer was supplied with six sets of studio video cameras, additional servers, broadcast graphics software and hardware, etc., the automation system was expanded. The scheme was adapted in order to use the equipment the customer has already owned. As a result, nine camera chains were organized in the studio.
Video materials of their own production are edited in the editing control room on different platforms and PCs. For the production of announcements, headings, break bumpers and other interprogram materials, a set of NLE stations based on a common disk array was created within the new television complex. There is a wide range of tools for journalists for preparing news releases in an automatic mode.
The constructed television system provides:
- video recording of summit events and the formation of a program signal;
- materials recording in the digital archive;
- storage and delivery of recorded materials;
- transmission of the program signal to the State Unitary Enterprise "Bashkortostan" by fiber-optic communication lines.
DNK Corporation specialists conducted full-scale training of the customer's personnel. During one week all production shifts including directors of all programs were trained.
In general, the availability of all these capabilities allows using the powerful technical and creative potential of the Bashkortostan Broadcasting Company to produce programs with a high viewing rating. The high level of these transmissions is largely determined by the good quality of the equipment of the complex and a wide range of its capabilities.
Project Result
The system is complex and unique in terms of the integration of a variety of the equipment. All production units are well integrated, practically without complications.
